We are proud to announce that our products have been appreciated and awarded with prestigious awards.
The "7 spices" spice mixture under the Jasmeen brand won the main prize, the Gold Medal of World Food Poland 2022 in the competition selecting the best products presented at the fair.
On the other hand, our Sandrini olive oil was awarded in the Golden Receipt - Polish Merchants' Award for another year in a row.
We proudly represent both awards on the packaging.
Oriental origin
The company’s name, „Levant“ comes from a French word meaning „East“ and it refers to its oriental roots. Levant trade has taken place since Medieval times on the route connecting Europe with the Eastern part of the globe. Thanks to its extensive trade contacts, Levant offers a variety of delicatessen products from all over the world. Having the access to original, oriental recipes and products we take great care of the development of our product range and we keep completing it with innovative solutions on a regular basis. We have earned the trust of many renowned manufacturers, which resulted in distribution of brands such as Ahmad Tea London, Akbar or Kuhne on Polish market.
Family business
30 years ago the idea for commercial activity was a natural continuation of our tradition. The company’s founder, dr Kasem Bahloul, comes from a palestinian merchant family, till this day famous for its commerce. The patterns have still been carried on, and the Board of the company is successful in providing it with dynamic development and at the same time, maintaining its familiar charcter. The company’s capital is still 100% Polish and a representative of another generation – Mr Kasem’s son – Mr Sami Bahloul sits on the company’s Board.
Constant growth
For 30 years we have been successful in achieving balanced growth and expanding the number of clients in Poland and abroad. We promote traditional food produced from natural ingredients and enjoy the growing trust of consumers and the market. Our acknowledgements include multiple winning the title of „Business Gazelles“, and in 2013 the MTP Gold Medal for the Champion’s product – lemon. The company’s Managing Director, Mr Kasem Bahloul was awarded the Gold Medal for Long Service by the President of Poland in 2012. Hard-earned profits are constantly re-invested in new projects, which results in the company’s development and possibilities of employment for tens of people.
Social activity
The company has been engaged in various charities and social activities for many years. It supports public benefit institutions, often based on long-term cooperation. Automobilklub Wielkopolski, Przylesie“ Association or Monar are listed among the beneficiaries. Also, the company gives its support to art. We sponsored such artists like the singer Wojciech Ezzat or the painter Stanislaw Brajer.
For many years Dr Kasem Bahloul has passionately combined running the business with working
as a doctor with a great success. As a doctor, he is engaged in various charity campaigns, e.g. the White Coat“ Campaign together with Barka Foundation, or purchasing medical equipment for
the patients of missionary health centres in Africa.
Our own producion plant
In September 2017, the company's activity was expanded to include a production plant for the packaging of homogeneous spices, spice mixtures, dried vegetables and dried fruit and nuts. This step allowed to enrich the company's existing assortment, and also contributed to a significant increase in the group of recipients. They have become not only retail customers, but also catering companies, restaurants and retail chains.
Deliveries coming not only from the local market, but also from such countries as India, Indonesia, Jordan and Chile allow us to offer our customers a very diverse range of the highest quality products.
Our own dairy plant
The company's management is constantly looking for business development opportunities and extending the product range. At the beginning of 2020, the activity of Levant Foods was also extended by fresh products range. The dairy products are produced at the Milk Processing Plant in Buk, which has become the property of the company. A dairy with over a hundred years of tradition can be proud of proven by experience recipes, for example for delicious cheeses. In addition to traditional products, the offer also includes dairy products from Middle Eastern cuisine - labneh, aryan, akawi.
From June 2021, the dairy in Buk was also part of the "Tastes of the Poznań Poviat" trail, which creates a network of recommendations of places and points with the culinary culture of the region.
